Frequently Asked Questions

Is Membership in the POA mandatory?
Yes.
Can the POA President or the Board raise my dues or create an assessment?
No. The Annual Dues are only subject to change by the eligible voting POA membership. If the need for a special assessment arises, the eligible voting membership will review and vote to approve or not approve.
What are the annual dues? When are they invoiced and due?
Annual dues are $200 billed in January each year and due on or before December 31st.
Who do I talk to about permission to add on to my home?
The ARC committee will answer your questions and walk you through completing an application.
What is the policy of the POA on short term rentals?
The POA does not currently prevent short term rentals.
Can I survey off one acre of my property and gift it to my son?
No. The property may be subdivided by its owner only if such division does not cause the tract to be smaller than 1 1/4 acres in size.
Is the area under a Burn Ban?
The area often has a Burn Ban in effect due to lack of sufficient rainfal in the area. Please visit The City of Marble Falls, Alert Center for current status. Burnet County also has more information here, including Outdoor Burning Guidelines.
What is a POA?
A POA is a Property Owners Association. These organizations are defined in Section 202.001 of the Texas Property Code as:
"[A]n incorporated or unincorporated association owned by or whose members consist primarily of the owners of the property covered by the dedicatory instrument and through which the owners, or the board of directors or similar governing body, manage or regulate the residential subdivision, planned unit development, condominium or townhouse regime, or similar planned development."
